Hi Everyone:

I hope you had a great weekend. Here is the latest from Room 128.

P2 Civics: Students were asked to do a quick interview with an adult about the meaning of democracy. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. They don’t have to record anything if they can remember what you say.

P3 History: Unit test results were released today. We continued our study of Hitler’s rise to power.

P4 History: Currently studying Hitler’s rise. No homework.

Hi Everyone:

P2: No homework, but students should be able to describe the 3 leadership styles that we discussed in class. We had a good discussion about security vs. privacy as well.

P3/4: Students wrote their 20s/30s test yesterday and I am currently marking these. We started our WWII unit with an independent inquiry into a topic of each student’s choosing (as long as it related to WWII, Hitler or the Holocaust). I really wanted them to be able to research something that they wanted to know, not just what I wanted them to know. Many students made very cool discoveries and these were posted on Collaborize Classroom for other classmates to read. Students should ensure they have their post done by the weekend. Students will have some reading to do over the weekend. They will have class time to get started but may need to finish it on Saturday or Sunday (or even Friday night if they are really keen!). I have attached the reading just in case they have trouble finding it on my website.

Hi Everyone:

P2 Civics: No homework. Had a great time with the River simulation today; it concludes on Monday.

P3/4 History: I have attached a review sheet for next week’s test (likely Wednesday, but maybe Thursday). Students completed an essay skeleton organizer today; some need to finish over the weekend so I can have a look before the test. Ask your son or daughter what he or she learned about: a) R.B. Bennett, b) relief camps.

No update tomorrow due to the PD day. Have a great weekend.
